General English

Training for General English is for students to learn basics of English language and improve communication. Interventions are customized as per the need and competency of the learner.

The training program zeros in on all the four skills, namely Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, besides Vocabulary and English Phonetics. Not only does the program raise the level of English Proficiency of the students but also it makes them comfortable in English Speaking Scenarios.

As regards the methods of Language teaching, we adopt Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Direct Method, which gives the students access to plenty of audio and video materials. Furthermore, it will provide a proper foundation for those candidates who would like to appear for a host of internationally standardized English Language tests. This training will help improve the participant’s grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation and spoken skills.

General English Level 1 - Basic


Coverage

Speaking-
We have crafted this course keeping young learners and the need to develop their speaking skills. As trainers with several years of experience, we do understand that students need confidence and tons of practice before they turn proficient. To develop confidence you also need to build on your language skills, to be able to understand, interpret and express their opinions and feelings using a range of vocabulary and relevant phrases. This course focuses on expanding their lexical knowledge, neutralizing their accent, and eventually honing their conversational skills.

Grammar-
Grammar is the warp and woof of any language. To holistically study, understand and use a language, it is imperative that you get the basics right. Ergo we have curated a program to help you establish a strong foundation in the basics of English Grammar

Expected outcome at the end of level 1


  • Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
  • Can introduce himself/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have.
  • Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Can communicate about simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters of immediate need.

    General English Level 2-Intermediate

    We address the learners who know the structure of English but communicate effectively, especially while speaking. The aim is to improve the colloquial usage and pronunciation so that they may be able to communicate somewhat fluently, intelligibly and optimally.

  • Develop English language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing by engaging in a range of communicative tasks and activities.
  • Communicate orally in different contexts that they may encounter in their daily life.
  • Participate in routine social conversations and talk about needs and familiar topics.
  • Understand simple exchanges, common daily instructions, direct questions about familiar topics, routine media announcements.
  • Understand the purpose, main ideas and some detail in 2-3 paragraph texts.
  • Write short letters and notes on a familiar topic.
  • Use and understand a range of common everyday vocabulary.
  • Use a variety of simple structures and some complex structures when speaking.
  • Effectively communicate basic needs in a culturally appropriate manner.
